Wear your LIFE JACKET – It’s the Law!
The law requires that every person under 12 years of age to wear a Coast Guard Approved Type I/Type II life jacket of appropriate size that’s securely fastened. This applies on all boats under 40′ long, including all rowboats and canoes. A life-saving device for each adult must also be on board.
The New York State Department of Health has issued a health advisory on eating certain species of fish caught in Lake Ontario. You will find detailed information in the fishing regulations publication issued when you purchase your fishing license.
